Have you been to the Twilight Summer Concert Series yet this summer?  Don’t worry! There are three more shows left in Salt Lake’s downtown concert series and each one is going to be worth seeing.  With over fifteen food vendors and eight craft vendors, it’s not the little show it was back when it started at the Gallivan Center.  It’s grown to outfit a more populated and vibrant downtown and it’s pretty amazing to see the swarms of old, young and everyone in between flocking to Pioneer Park every Thursday night to check out the incredible bands they’ve managed to book at this great series.

If you like James Brown or are a fan of soul, the show this Thursday the 14th is going to be amazing.  Soul singer, Lee Fields (in video below), steps onto the stage to sing his heart out.

Thursday, August 20th Flying Lotus will co headline with Run the Jewels. Flying Lotus (Steven Elisson), was an LA film student who started out making beats and songs to go along with the stories in his films.  He got his start in music when he submitted songs to The Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim and his music was so great, that he became a regular. He’s come a long way since then.   His music take you on a journey across a landscape of experimental hip hop, rap, and electronic music with some other  surprises thrown in.

And the season closes with a bang.   August 27th, Grammy Award winning St. Vincent is performing! (You might have seen her play up at Red Butte Garden in 2014 with THE David Byrne) Her music is pop enough to satisfy youthful ears, dance worthy enough for those that like to move and good enough that even the music snobs in the crowd will get into it.    Plus, Annie Clark’s stage hair is incredible.   Another great band, Best Coast will be opening.
